According to a new study, calculations indicate that either we are alone in the galaxy, or ET is ignoring us. "We're either alone, or they're out there and leave us alone," the Discovery News quoted mathematician Thomas Hair, with Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers as saying. When Prateik Babbar was asked about his relationship with Amy Jackson at the event, the lad's reply was evasive. Asked if the rumours of him dating Amy were true, Prateik said: "Whether it is true or false, I think it is for me and Amy to know and for the whole world to keep guessing." | Kate Moss & Lara Stone Again On LOVE Magazine, But Not N@ked This Time Posted: 31 Jan 2012 05:06 AM PST It is almost two years exactly since the last time Kate Moss and Lara Stone both posed for a LOVE magazine – but this time, the shoot will raise fewer eyebrows. In February 2010, the pair posed completely naked alongside six other supermodels. But one year later, they are keeping their clothes firmly on. A sneak preview of the shoot sees Kate and Lara – made up to look startlingly similar – posing in a warm embrace, complete with matching cat ears. The photo was taken by Mario Testino, who was also chosen to take the official photographs at the Moss-Hince wedding last summer. Kate and Lara were styled by Panos Yiapanis – who, it appears, struggled to choose what he wanted the models to wear – so instead decided to layer up his favourite designers with clothes from his own studio. Lara shows off a glimpse of a Stella McCartney print dress under a vintage denim jacket which has been written all over in felt tip. Kate wears a red silk body by Prada – which you can also see just a sliver of – under a studded chain-mail biker jacket from the stylist's studio. Both blondes accessorise with a fun pair of cat’s ears created by Yiapanis – while Lara’s huge engagement ring also attracts some attention. Hair stylist Orlando Pita and make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury were obviously briefed to make the pretty models look as similar as possible. The fun blues and turquoises of the shoot – and the blonde locks and matching freckles of the models – give it a summery feel despite the cool palette. | Rafale Fighter India: Dassault Rafale Wins Indian Air Force 126 Jet Fighter Deal Posted: 31 Jan 2012 04:14 AM PST The Dassault Rafale fighter jet, manufactured by French Dassault Aviation, has emerged as the lowest bidder in India’s mammoth contract worth $10.4 billion, say sources. The Indian Air Force plans to buy 126 aircraft over the next ten years. The process to determine the L1 (lowest bidder) has been completed, and sources indicate that the final contract is expected to be signed in the next financial year. The first 18 aircraft will be bought off the shelf. The rest 118 will be manufactured in partnership with an Indian company. There were six contenders for the world’s biggest defence deal which included the Russian MiG- 35,Lockheed Martin’s F-16 Falcon, Boeing’s F-18 Hornet, the Swedish Saab Grippen, Euro-Fighter Typhoon and Rafale. Of these, the European EADS Eurofighter Typhoon and Dassault Rafale were in the final race for the global tender for the Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA). The Eurofighter bid was backed by four partner nations including Germany, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom while the Dassault Rafale was backed by the French Government. On November 4 last year, Defence ministry had opened the commercial bid of the two firms left in the race and since then has been busy in determining the lowest bidder. Joe Green is Mark Zuckerberg's former Harvard roommate and the man who reportedly walked away from a Facebook fortune. Mr Zuckerberg asked Mr Green to drop out of the Ivy League university to build the social networking site with him, but he said no because his father disapproved, US ABC News reports. Before the birth of Facebook, Mr Green and Mr Zuckerberg were threatened with expulsion after building a website called "Hot or Not?" that let students rate the attractiveness of their peers. “We’d gotten into a little bit trouble with the previous project … and my father, who’s a professor, was not too happy with the prospect of me getting kicked out of school,” Mr Green said. “Zuckerberg likes to make fun of my dad for this, but we’re still very close.” After walking away from Facebook Mr Green pursued his love of politics, working for John Kerry's failed 2004 US presidential campaign. All was not lost, however. Mr Green was brought back into the fold in 2007 to run the website and Facebook application "Causes", which is designed to "empower anyone with a good idea or passion for change to impact the world”. The for-profit business lets friends suggest charities, social causes and political candidates to their followers. Mr Green says social networking has become a powerful tool for politicians and activists. “You can’t ignore it,” he said. “It’s like ignoring television or ignoring, you know, mail. | Japan Population Decline: Japan’s Youth Not Interested In Sex So Population Decline Posted: 31 Jan 2012 03:15 AM PST A startling number of Japanese youths have turned their backs on sex and relationships, a new survey has found. The survey, conducted by the Japan Family Planning Association, found that 36% of males aged 16 to 19 said that they had ‘no interest’ in or even ‘despised’ sex. That’s almost a 19% increase since the survey was last conducted in 2008. If that’s not bad enough, The Wall Street Journal reports that a whopping 59% of female respondents aged 16 to 19 said they were uninterested in or averse to sex, a near 12% increase since 2008. The survey paints a bleak picture for Japan’s aging population. The Associated Press reports that the national population of 128 million will have shrunk by one-third by 2060 and seniors will account for 40 percent of people, placing a greater burden on the work force population to support the country’s social security and tax systems. Many commentators in the Japanese and international media have laid the problem squarely at the feet of soshoku danshi — “herbivore men” — a term coined by pop culture columnist Maki Fukasawa in 2006. It refers to Japanese young men who have rejected their culture’s traditional definition of masculinity, and seemingly eschew relationships with the opposite sex as part. CNN spoke to a Midori Saida, a 24-year-old Japanese woman who described “herbivore men” as “flaky and weak.” “We like manly men,” she said. “We are not interested in those boys — at all.” BBC News spoke to one such “herbivore” man (see video above). The man, Yusaki Yakahashi said: “Building a relationship seems like too much effort. To get her to like me and for me to like her… I’d have to give up everything I do at the weekend for her. I don’t want to do that.” Another theory that seeks to explain Japan’s shrinking population is that Japanese youth spend too much time engaged with technology, living in virtual worlds or settling for virtual girlfriends rather than real ones. Britain’s Daily Telegraph reports that Japan’s government has undertaken a series of campaigns to encourage couples to have more children — including making companies insist that their staff leave work at 6 pm to increase child allowances — but according to Dr. Kunio Kitamura, head of the Japan Family Planning Association, “none of that is gong to have an impact if people are not going to have sex.” Related posts:

Prakash was attacked while he was showcasing his paintings of Bollywood celebs in the nude at Espace Alternative gallery in Noida. They slapped me twice, threw me to the floor and then began pulling down the paintings, damaging three of my paintings. The images that were damaged were of Bollywood star Vidya Balan, Pakistani actress Veena Malik and model Poonam Pandey,” said the Noida-based painter who had earlier painted Arundhati Roy in the nude. According to Prakash, one of the pictures ruined was that of Poonam Pandey in the nude, who was shown supporting anti corruption crusader Anna Hazare, with a Gandhi cap on her head, while Malik appears to be shown with the Pakistan flag painted on her back. ‘Hue’ and cry “There is a certain section of people who think they are the custodians of Indian culture, and anyone who disagrees with them is the enemy. I have a right to express my view and no one in this country can take away my freedom of expression.
