The New Year is looking bright for Dakota Fanning, especially since she's ELLE UK’s February 2012 cover girl.

The "I Am Sam" hottie looks fabulous as she posed for photographer David Slijper while clad in a Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012 dress (subscriber edition) and a baby blue Prada ensemble (newsstand edition) on the front of the magazine.

In a recent interview, Dakota confessed that her sister Elle was the more stylish of the two of them. "She's the go-to fashion person in the family. Elle knows every single model, every single collection, every single piece from every single collection. She has a real passion, and it's not at all in a materialistic way. She genuinely appreciates the workmanship and creativity."

And it seems Dakota and Elle have different expectations on sisterly sharing of clothes. "As far as I'm concerned, there's a no-closet-sharing policy, but as far as Elle is concerned…I'll go in my room, and there will be clothes on the floor, clothes missing, clothes that are now in her closet. Last summer, I was in London working on a film, and I was looking online and these pictures came up on my homepage. She was in my hat, my dress, my shoes. I called her up and was like, 'I caught you! They photographed you wearing all my stuff. Put it back!'"

Angela Simmons displayed her toned figure in a pastel string bikini yesterday.

But another day on the beach calls for yet another two piece and today Angela Simmons showed off her curves in a monochrome striped ensemble.

The 24-year-old reality star pour her figure into the halter neck bikini top which she teamed with a loose twisted hairstyle.

As she made her way to a suitable spot to top up her tan Angela was seen wearing a sheer white string skirt.

A spot of jet skiing was on the schedule for the day and she showed off her skills in the water.

Despite removing the minimal skirt as she paddled in the water Angela was seen holding the item of clothing in front of her stomach, but she has little to worry about.

Angela, the daughter of Run DMC star Rev Run, is looking better than ever.

She gave no sign that she was recovering from a hangover, despite tweeting about a headache earlier in the day.

Danielle Mason gave birth to son Rudi just four months but Danielle Mason has already regained her six 10 figure and is confident enough to flaunt it in a bikini too.

The glamour model, whose sister is EastEnders actress Jessie Wallace, posed in a swimming pool in Barbados wearing a red bikini.

And at one point she was happy to whip off her bikini top to go topless in the pool – all the while showing off her toned physique.

Danielle and boyfriend Tony Giles star in the new series of my Big Fat Gyspy Wedding when it returns for 6 episodes on February 9 on Channel 4.

Danielle gave birth to her Son Rudi in August and is back to her size 10 body already.

She added that they did not seem to approve of Tony, 26, having a relationship with a ‘gorger’ – which is the term given to people from outside of the traveller community.

Tony grew up on a caravan site in Virginia Water, Surrey, and told the paper that their romance – and the fact they were unmarried but expecting a baby – had caused ‘a little bit of upset’.

‘I don't think we would have had time to get married before she got pregnant. It was a short period of time,’ Tony said.

Mark Hurd, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO, bragged about being Sheryl Crow’s object of desire and relentlessly tried to get contractor Jodie Fisher to have an affair with him, according to a contested and explosive letter released on Thursday.

According to reports, the letter alleges that Hurd brushed his hand against Fisher’s breast, kissed her, and insisted that women around the world were “crazy about” him. He also allegedly grabbed and kissed her in October of 2009 and made passes at her during dinners, meetings and hotel room visits around the world between 2007 and 2009, Bloomberg News reported.

Fisher worked as a contractor with HP's marketing department.

“You had designs to make her your lover from the onset using your status and authority as CEO of HP,” Fisher's attorney Gloria Allred said in the letter to Hurd, according Bloomberg. “At times you would behave professionally seemingly ‘getting’ that she was not going to have sex with you. At other times, not, and you would relentlessly attempt to cajole her into having sex with you.”

Allred's letter, which was penned and sent in 2010, was ordered released by the court yesterday after a ruling by the Delaware Supreme Court that it should be unsealed as part of a shareholders suit against the company.

It also claims that the inappropriate advances began after Hurd spotted Fisher on the reality show "Age of Love."

Allred claims in the letter that Fisher lost her job after refusing to have sex with Hurd in 2009.

“She knew that if she did not have sex with you soon, her job was over, which is exactly what occurred,” Allred wrote.

The letter provides the most detailed allegations by Fisher against Hurd, who was forced to resign from Hewlett-Packard after the affair became tabloid fodder.

He settled with Fisher a week later.

Hurd’s lawyers argue that Fisher, the alleged victim, admits the 8-page letter contains some inaccuracies, which is why they fought to keep it under wraps, according to Bloomberg.

Emails obtained by Bloomberg also reportedly show that Fisher emailed Hurd enthusiastically discussing her job and inquiring about his family.

“The truth is, there never was any sexual harassment, which HP’s investigation confirmed, and there never was any sexual relationship, which Ms. Fisher has confirmed,” Hurd’s lawyer Amy Wintersheimer said.

As for his claims of a relationship with Crow, a rep for the singer denied she had ever heard of Hurd.

An Italian couple could create a new record of becoming the world’s oldest divorcees, with a 99-year-old husband moving a court after he found that his 96-year-old wife had an affair in the 1940s, a report said.

The Italian man, identified by lawyers in the case only as Antonio C, was rifling through an old chest of drawers when he made the discovery a few days before Christmas this year.

Notwithstanding the time that had elapsed since the betrayal, he was so upset that he immediately confronted his wife of 77 years, named as Rosa C, and demanded a divorce, ‘The Daily Telegraph’ reported.

Guilt-stricken, she reportedly confessed to everything but was unable to persuade her husband to reconsider his decision, the newspaper said.

In fact, she wrote the letters to her lover during a secret affair in the 1940s, according to court papers released in Rome this week.

The couple is now preparing to split, despite the ties they forged over nearly eight decades — they have five children, a dozen grandchildren and one great-grand child.

The discovery of the letters was the final straw for a marriage which had already run into difficulty — 10 years ago the husband briefly left their house in Rome and moved in with one of his sons, only to return a few weeks later.

The couple met during the 1930s when Antonio was posted as a young Carabinieri officer to Naples.

The case appears to set a new record, at least for the age of the oldest protagonist — the previous oldest couple to divorce were Bertie and Jessie Wood, both aged 98, from UK.

The pair ended their 36-year marriage in 2009 when they were both two years away from their 100th birthdays.

Akula-II Class Nerpa: India Gets Akula-II Class Nerpa Attack Submarine From Russia

Russia has handed over the much- awaited nuclear-powered attack submarine Nerpa to India on a 10-year lease, boosting the Indian navy’s fire-power.

The Akula-II class Nerpa nuclear submarine had recently finished sea trials.

“The signing ceremony happened yesterday at the Bolshoi Kamen ship building facility in the (Far East) Primorye region where the Nerpa is now based,” ITAR-TASS news agency quoted a senior Russian navy official as saying.

The deal for the submarine, which is being transferred on a 10-year lease, was worth USD 920 million.

The report said an Indian crew would sail the Akula II class craft to its home base at the end of January.

“All of the naval tests and performance checks have been completed,” the Russian navy official said.

The submarine, capable of remaining underwater for months, will be rechristened as ‘INS Chakra’ and it would be for the first time in more than two decades that the Indian navy would have a nuclear attack submarine.

When Russia makes the delivery, it will make India only the sixth operator of nuclear submarines in the world.

The submarine deal had figured during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to Russia earlier this month.

The Nerpa, an Akula II-class attack submarine, had originally been scheduled for delivery in 2008 but an accident during sea trials on November 8 that year had forced the Russian authorities to put it on hold.

Twenty people, mostly civilians, had been killed when a fire-suppressant gas was released on the Nerpa during shakedown trials, in one of Russia’s worst naval accidents.

The Akula-II class submarines are equipped with 28 nuclear-capable cruise missiles with a striking range of 3,000 km. The Indian version is reportedly expected to be armed with the 300-km Club nuclear-capable missiles.

India had funded the completion of the Nerpa nuclear submarine at Amur Shipyard before the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

Age Limit For Govt Jobs: Bengal Raises Age Limit For Govt Jobs To 40

In a decision that will help more people seek state government jobs, West Bengal government today raised the age limit for general category candidates to 40 years—three years more than the current eligibility age.

After a Cabinet meeting held at the state secretariat, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee told reporters that the previous Left Front government had raised the limit by five years from 32 years to 37 years.

She said that extension of the age limit was kept valid for five years which was going to expire tomorrow.

"We have now further extended the age limit for Group D and Group C staff by another three years to 40 years for general category", Banerjee said.

For SC/ST category, the limit had been raised from 42 years to 45 years and from 40 years to 43 years for OBC and physically handicapped candidates.

She said that after raising the age limit, more people can hope to get government jobs in the state. Banerjee said that already 2.75 lakh jobs had been created.

"We plan to create four to five lakh jobs both in the government and private sectors", she added.

We’ve already lived through Christian broadcaster Harold Camping’s Oct. 21, 2011 judgment day, but he was just one man. The ancient Mayans are a different story. They were an entire civilization — numbering 14 million at its peak — known as the most advanced astronomers and mathematicians who built hydroponic garden cities, created remarkable architecture, made sophisticated art and developed perhaps the first writing system in the Western hemisphere. They also figured out a calendar believed by some experts to be more accurate than the Gregorian one we use today.

The problem in some people’s mind: The Mayan calendar ends on Dec. 21, 2012. Many predict that means the end of the world, and that’s stirred plenty of controversy.

Doom-sayers point to collapsing economies, climate changes, devastating hurricanes, earthquakes and other natural disasters, intense personal tragedies and political upheavals as evidence that the world is spinning out of control.

Many new-agers, optimists and people on spiritual or personal growth paths orient their perspective of 2012 loosely to the tune of R.E.M.’s "It’s the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine …" They view it more as an intense time of change — an opportunity to let go of old patterns and belief systems that no longer fit and adopt new, empowering ways of being in the world. Indraprastha Gas Ltd on Friday hiked the price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by Rs 1.75 per kg as rupee devaluation has pushed up input cost.

The new rates will be effective from midnight tonight mean from 31 December 2011. Price of CNG after this hike will be Rs 33.75 per kg in the National Capital.

“The revision in prices would result in increase of Rs 1.75 per kg in the consumer price of CNG in Delhi and Rs 2.00 per kg in the consumer price of CNG in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad,” the company said in a press statement here.

The new consumer price in Delhi will be Rs 33.75 per kg, while it will be Rs 37.90 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.

IGL had last raised CNG in Delhi by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 32 per kg from October 1.

IGL Managing Director M Ravindran said: “We have been forced to increase the retail price of CNG due to a major increase in the input cost of entire pool of natural gas being sourced by us as a result of recent appreciation of the dollar vis-a-vis the rupee and the increased dependence on imported LNG.”

The rupee depreciation has made raw material, like natural gas from Reliance, GAIL and imported LNG, costlier.

The government has fixed the price of domestic gas produced by state-owned ONGC and RIL in US dollar terms and every time the rupee depreciates against the US currency, users end up paying more.

IGL contracted 0.308 million standard cubic metres per day of gas from RIL, but following a 35 percent drop in KG-D6 output, supplies to city gas projects have been cut so that demand of priority power and fertiliser sector can be met.

Shakti Mohan Nritya Shakti: Shakti Mohan Unveil 2012 Calendar Nritya Shakti

Dance India Dance 2 winner Shakti Mohan has launched an interesting 2012 calendar called Nritya Shakti, which contains 12 graceful dance expressions.

These are incidentally Shakti’s favourite pose.

The costumes have been designed by Shakti’s sister Mukti, a dancer herself, with some help from stylist Josie.

The calendar has been shot by internationally acclaimed photographer Pravin Talan. “It was Pravin who suggested that I should make a dance calendar,” Shakti says.

Shakti plans to go to New York and train further in international dance forms. “I want to be known as a good dancer internationally. This calendar is a stepping stone in my career,” she says.

Shakti’s father suggested the title Nritya Shakti because it expresses the power of dance.

“I’m recognised because of dance and I owe everything to it,” Shakti says. “I want to give back to dance and ake it to another level.”

This is Shakti’s toughest pose because it required her to jump high. “I hurt my knees (during the shoot for this picture) and had to take rest for a few days,” Shakti says.

Shakti says, “The shoot was fun but it required so much hard work and decision making. I never imagined producing something like this would be so taxing.”

Shakti completed the photo shoot in just a day.

Contemporary dance choreographer Terrance Lewis helped her select the pictures for the calendar.

“Terrance is my guru. This calendar is one of its kind, as this is the first by a dancer and could not have done it without the support of Zee TV,” she says.

Rozlyn, known for her music video dedicated to Bachchan family unearthed the modus operandi of how the item girls and performers are going to be the easy catch for the drug dealers.

“A caller claiming to be an International event organiser Antony approached me for a private show in one of the five star hotels. He was willing to pay me three times more of my fees which turned me suspicious,” said Rozlyn in a complaint with the Oshiwara Police station.

The model-turned-item girl charges over Rs 3 lakh for her single performance. "But the organiser was offering to pay the amount as high as Rs 12.5 lakh for my show," she said.

According to her, the calls were made from abroad as the number had an international code. “After a few rounds of talks, the caller said that the show fees would be handed over to me by his associate in Mumbai. The amount will be in a travel bag, which I would have to carry along with me,” said Rozlyn.

The offer made by the caller grew her suspicion stronger. "After my repeated questions, the caller's associated revealed that the bag would contain drugs which I would have to carry with me inside the party venue since I would get a VIP access to the party without going through security check," Rozlyn told the police.

Rozlyn also said that a lot of item girls were being approached by these drug dealers and many of them agreed to the deal without knowing what was inside the bag. "I refused him to do the show warning him not to call me again. However, he threatened me not make a police complaint."

Rozlyn felt that informing the police about the episode as her social responsibility. “I didn’t want any innocent to fall prey to such vicious tactics and so I registered the complaint,” she said.

The police have registered the complaint against the anonymous caller under section 507 IPC, criminal intimidation by anonymous communication.

“We are getting a lot of tip offs. In the wake of increased complaints of drug peddling, we have started keeping an eye on the popular pubs and discotheques to curb drug abuse during the party season," an officer of anti-narcotic cell said on the condition of anonymity.

He said that the police teams are interacting with the organisers to find out what these popular hangouts have on the cards for this New Year's Eve.

Recently Italian police rounded up a 33-year-old Spanish model at the Leonardo da Vinci airport at Rome on charges of smuggling 2.5 kg cocaine worth GBP 120,000 in her prosthetic breasts.

The model alighted from a flight from Sao Paolo, Brazil, and women detectives found white crystalline powder hidden in her posterior and fake breasts.

Reports suggested that her abnormally large breasts and rear drew attention of customs officials who then searched and found the narcotics on her.

Cyclone Thane News: Myanmar Gives Thane Name To Cyclone Thane

The name of Cyclone Thane, which will be hitting the eastern coast of India on Friday morning, was given by Myanmar.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, cyclones originating in the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal are named by eight countries – India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Myanmar, Oman and Thailand.

The procedure for naming cyclones has been laid down by the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). The procedure came into effect in 2004.

The names are taken from lists drafted in advance by WMO committees. After a cyclone has passed, its name is retired and new names suggested.

The eight countries have prepared a list of 64 names for cyclones, which are announced by rotation. Going by this cycle, the name of Cyclone Thane, currently moving in the Bay of Bengal, was given by Myanmar.

Sex Scam At DCP Home: Probe In Sex Scam At DCP Nandkumar Chougule Home Cleopatra Day Spa

MUMBAI Police commissioner Arup Patnaik has ordered an inquiry into allegations of flesh racket being run at a spa on a place owned by a deputy commissioner of police. The social service (SS) branch, during its raid at the spa, rescued seven girls.

Patnaik has asked S P Yadav, joint commissioner of police (administration), to hold an inquiry into the matter. The SS branch conducted a raid at Cleopatra Day Spa in Seven Bungalows, Andheri (W), and found that it was used as a front to run flesh trade.

Incidentally, the property is owned by DCP Nandkumar Chougule, attached to city’s traffic department. The SS branch is making inquiries whether the girls were forced into the flesh trade.

During the interrogation and investigation, the SS branch found that the plot was rented out to one Saroj Bhakuni, who allegedly converted it into a swank spa.

The police have arrested Bhakuni and two others under the Prevention of Immoral Traffic Ac and a case has been registered against them. However, the police are yet to book Chougule. Though, in such cases, owners of the properties are also booked but the police are still thinking on the next course of action.

The bungalow is registered in Chougule’s wife Madhuri’s name. The police recovered a cheque for Rs 36,000, two bill books and Rs 64,700 cash from the spa counter. Chougule, say sources, handles all the paperwork related to this property.

Sources said that the department inquiry could be completed in the next two months and a report to the police chief will be submitted. Taking appropriate action against the accused will be the police chief’s prerogative.

“Policemen renting out their flats in the city is not a new thing. But running such kind of a racket on a property owned by a senior police official is a serious crime. It is too early to say whether people other than Bhakuni were aware of the owner being a policeman or not. An inquiry will clear everything,” said a police officer. Despite repeated attempts, Chougule did not answer calls by this correspondent.

Actress and singer Kaye Stevens, a longtime South Florida resident who was a frequent guest on Johnny Carson’s “The Tonight Show,” has died at a central Florida hospital. She was 79.

Close friend Gerry Schweitzer confirmed that Stevens died Wednesday at the Villages Hospital north of Orlando following a battle with breast cancer and blood clots.

Stevens performed with Rat Pack members including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Joey Bishop. She also performed solo at venues like Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and the Plaza Hotel’s Persian Room in New York City.

During the Vietnam War era, Stevens performed for American soldiers in the war zone with Bob Hope’s USO tour.

Stevens also acted in film and television, including a run on “Days of Our Lives” from 1974-79.
