| Aisha – Movie Reviews, Videos, Wallpapers, Photos, Cast & Crew | Aisha Review: Aisha Movie Review Posted: 06 Aug 2010 05:55 AM PDT Aisha – Movie Reviews, Videos, Wallpapers, Photos, Cast & Crew | Aisha Review: Aisha Movie Review Overall Rating: 2.75/5
'Aisha' is how Shobhaa De would have written Jame Austen's 'Emma' – Louis Vuitton, Ralph Lauren, L'Oreal… – Perinea Qureshi and Kunal Rawal added a sleek and trendy touch to every single living character in the movie which prevailed over the movie from the very first scene till the last. 'Aisha' stayed a cut higher than what the promos showed signs of – the top-notch rich lifestyle of Delhi through the lives of the super-girly Aisha Kapoor (Sonam Kapoor), her friends, family and relatives. If pairs are made in heaven then there is barely any role for the self-claimed matchmaker Aisha but the confidence she has on her own might prevents her from not trying to find the right partner for Shefali (Amrita Puri), a sub-urban behenji girl cooked to the ways of classy dressing by Aisha. But all went wrong. First, Randhir Gambhir (Cyrus Sahukar), the initial chosen one for Shefali, fell in love with Aisha's best friend Pinky Bose (Ira Dubey) to Aisha's dismay and then the next target Dhruv (Arunoday Singh) kissed and went ahead with Aarti (Lisa Haydon). All these after Aisha refused to be the lady for both the men. Shefali's love for Saurabh (Anand Tiwari), couldn't find any emotion in Aisha for the middle-class background of the chap. While Arjun Burman (Abhay Deol) tried hard to drive the point across, Pinky told her a thing or two and Shefali held her responsible for everything – it occurred to her only when her own love Arjun was at stake.
The movie went utterly on the wrong track with the screenplay of Devika Bhagat. Due attention should have been given to the romantic angle between Abhay and Sonam. Lisa arrived, dined and partied with Abhay and one fine evening smooched Arunoday. Where is the connection? Ditto for Cyrus and Ira! The editing skill of Sreekar Prasad wasn't put to best use.
It always feels good to speak of the positives, you know. Diego Roderiguez presented a comfy picture of the lavishness of the moneyed Delhi. And this gentleman Amit Trivedi! He is the best thing that has happened to the Indian music industry after A R Rahman. 'Gal Mithhi Mithhi…' is going to stay for a long time. The lazy and soothing 'Suno Aisha..' is the song that you would find comfort in on a rainy day.
Sonam Kapoor was effortless on screen packed with oodles of girly-ness and 'rich' innocence. The movie belongs to Amrita Puri who overshadowed Sonam Kapoor as the naive and small-town girl. Even though Abhay Deol had little to do, still he excelled in his role as the New-York-return I-Banker. How genius! Cyrus Sahukar and Ira Dubey were fabulous in their respective roles. Cyrus made Randhir look more stupid than the role demanded. Kudos to that! Arunoday Singh made an unimpressive debut with an impressive bod – but these days every Tom, Dick and Harry has a torso to envy for. So, who cares? Lisa Haydon is not too hot to handle.
”Shallow’‘, said Arjun to Aisha and she wept. The movie ends up being as shallow as the character of Aisha and is bound to leave the male species crying for the hard-earned bucks.
Did you like 'Sex and the City'? Then 'Aisha' might as well entertain you. |
| Posted: 06 Aug 2010 05:53 AM PDT Don Seenu – Movie Reviews, Story, Trailers, Wallpapers, Telugu | Don seenu rating | Don seenu movie review | The Plot… The screenplay is what we at 'Telugu land' call – the entertaining prototype. You can narrate the entire screenplay to somebody for an entire day and yet summarise the total plot in a few seconds.Seenu (Ravi Teja) is greatly inspired by Amitabh Bachchan's 'Don' at a very young age and is convinced that his destiny is to become a don. In the process of fulfilling his destiny he runs away from home at the age of 10 and arrives at Hyderabad years later. The city at that time has two major dons – Narsingh (Sree Hari) and Mallesh (Shiyaji Shinde). Seenu uses his own strategies to get induced to the Mallesh gang and as an opening assignment is sent to Germany to fool Narsingh's sister (Shriya) into loving him. Who is Seenu's secret sister and the confusions the master don – Duggal (Mahesh Manjerekar) is put through add up to the plot in the second half. Twists are available in abundance and after the initial few you wouldn't care anyways. Acting… There is no particular use for a segment of the review that talks about the actors of our 'typical entertainers'. Nothing new to look forward to. Same old.Same old. What was entertaining? Ravi Teja as usual brings in his entertaining persona to the party and he along with Ali can keep you amused through the first half. What went wrong? Talking from the purely commercial perspective, the second half was rather drab and kept losing the grip on the audiences. The songs in particular were some of the worst I've heard in a long time. A good set of compositions with a few interesting lyrics could have avoided the audience walking out every time the film breaks into one of those expected sequences. Verdict. Expect nothing new and your chances of disappointment are avoidable. A thief snatches Shriya's bag and Ravi Teja goes on to fight an authentic looking (Telugu film wise) snatchers gang, you know the sort. They wear black leather clothes with tattoos and all that. Just before the fight kicks off, Seenu says something which is more than an apt verdict for the film. "This is South Indian masala". |

| Aisha review | Aisha Hindi Movie Review | Aisha(2010) IMDB Rating | Aaisha Film Reviews Posted: 06 Aug 2010 05:44 AM PDT Star Cast: Abhay Deol, Sonam Kapoor, Arunoday Singh, Ira Dubey, Cyrus Shahukar, Amrita Puri, Lisa Haydon. 'Aisha' is a romantic comedy based on Jane Austen's Emma. Aisha is a posh girl from Delhi who is classy, bubbly and very much modern. She also loves match-making and calls it 'social service'. This movie is perfect for the energetic young generation as the flick has superb aesthetic looks and extraordinarily stylish characters. Aisha (Sonam Kapoor) comes across a plain-Jane, behenji type girl Shefali (Amrita Puri) and this gal becomes Aisha's next social service mission. She feels that it is her responsibility to find a suitor for her and so she gives Shefali a total makeover and Shefali gets a chain of suitors after that. Then, we have the handsome and sweet Arjun Burman (Abhay Doel) who is Aisha's childhood buddy who tries to make Aisha realize that love cannot be forced by match making. Aisha also has a showy best friend Pinky Bose (Ira Dubey) and Randhir Gambhir (Cyrus Sahukar) plays the character of a Delhi boy. This flick is for the youth of today who are stylish and open minded. The movie is so much lively and bright with fashion and style brimming everywhere. Costume designer Kunal Rawal and stylist Pernia Qureshi did an awesome job bringing life to the characters with style that can make all style freaks awestruck. The hot chicks and the well dressed hunks are eye candies which can take us to a stylish wonder land which doesn't actually exist in Delhi. Sonam Kapoor brings justice to Jane Austen's Emma as she is a word-to-word transformation of the character from the book. The performances by all the actors are just too good and Sonam introduced a whole new dimension of herself with this flick. This movie is quite different from her earlier flicks which couldn't do much in the box office and 'Aisha' is all set to cover-up her past flops. Debutante Amrita Puri also gave an outstanding performance setting a challenge for all new comers. Abhay was just perfect for the role. His style, his looks and his acting all was ideal. The music of the movie is quite appreciable which has been composed by Amit Trivedi. Sonam's little sister Rhea Kapoor produced the flick with Sanjeev K. Bijli and Ajay Bijli. The lyrics have been penned down by Javed Akhtar and the movie has been directed by debutant Rajshri Ojha.

| Don Seenu Review | Telugu Movie Don Seenu Review | Don Seenu Film Rating Posted: 06 Aug 2010 05:43 AM PDT The famous telegu villain from the film Don Seenu with its review has been down to a dummy long ago. It seems like reducing the number of intelligent villains anyways heightens up the value of the heros. Ravi Teja brought in his act of mimicking the great Amitabh Bachchan with the name Don. The review tells the story line looses out on interest of the audience after a while with the lost focus. In the story, the Don Seenu works for Machineni (Sayaji Shinde), who is on a constant road against his rival Machineni (Sayaji Shinde). Don Seenu, who is supposed to be working for Machineni (Sayaji Shinde), instead kidnaps the man's sister and joins with the rivals makes his sister Anjana Sukhani fall for him. The movie review also tells that the story also moves to a sentimental flashback that attempts an impression of dignity but fails to do so. The roles of Shriya and Anjani Sujhani bring in a light element to the story where Shriya shows off her slaughter-filled looks, and Anjani too freshens up the story, though with limited roles. Both Srihari and Sayaji well support the story with the Telangana dialects, but the weak storyline doesn't allow much of a dynamism to them. Ali, who plays Ravi Teja does his role gracefully. The songs are ranked OK while the Cinematography is quite smooth. The film is a complete siren for Ravi Teja to do a think over onto his stories. Anyways, the film still manages to keep you up with certain acts of amusements and tricks. |
