Everyone has a different natural lip color — it's as varied as skin color. Some people have pink lips, others have lips that are light, but others are darker. And dark can be beautiful! You can definitely use a deep, bold lipstick in red, dark red or wine to really make the most of your lip color and warm it up a bit. But if you really want pink lips, there are some ways to lighten lips — and to make them appear more pink. First of all, have your lips always been dark? If you went from pink lips to dark lips very rapidly, and they don't seem to be changing back, it could be a sign of an underlying health problem. If this is the case, visit a doctor for a check up. But if your lips have always been dark, you might want to try a couple of these methods to lighten lips: Watch your diet Use sunscreen Keep lips moist Use makeup Alternative Cure for Dark Lips There is no real way to change the actual color of your lips if they are naturally dark. All people do not have pink lips — pink lips are just another beauty myth like a number of hair and skin myths, and the color of the lips is as varied as skin color itself. In fact, the lips contain the skin pigment melanin, just like any part of the body. In dark people, the lips contain more melanin, and therefore the red or pink color, which is actually the blood in the blood vessels in the lips, is not as noticeable or prominent. If your lips have suddenly turned dark and do not return to normal within a couple of weeks, this might be due to some underlying health problem, so you should visit a doctor for a check up. However, if your lips have always been dark, there is nothing to worry about and you should stop paying so much attention to their color. Beyond this, a few general practices can help your lips stay healthy and prevent them from darkening further. It is great that you don’t smoke, but you should try cutting down on tea and coffee as well, and see if there is any difference. In addition, you can use a lipstick with sunscreen, and if your lips are dry, apply a few drops of glycerin or a thin layer of petroleum jelly. There are several ways to cure dry lips and get back your original shine and color. You should start with drinking lots of water to keep your lips hydrated at all times. If after drinking water, your lips still continuously feel dry, then apply a cool wet cloth to directly hydrate your lips. You can apply this treatment every few hours. You could also moisturize your lips using a lip balm every couple of hours. The balm should provide protection from sunlight, with a minimum of 15 SPF to save your lips from the sun. Avoid licking your lips as this only causes further chapping. Licking does not help in moisturizing your lips. Another thing to remember is that you should never peel the dead skin from your lips, no matter how dry they may feel. Applying butter or milk cream several times a day helps to remove the dry, dead skin and also makes your lips smooth. A very effective method is by applying a paste of rose petals and milk. Soak a few rose petals in raw milk for a few hours. Take this paste and apply it to make lips pink and smooth. Dryness could also be due to vitamin deficiencies in your body. Make sure that your diet includes all foods that are rich in Vitamin A and B. You could also be allergic to the toothpaste you are using, as they often contain flavoring agents that may not suit your lips. Using an old or a harsh toothbrush could also cause further harm. You should also be careful of what you're eating as your lips could be sensitive to certain kind of food. A few food items that could irritate your lips are mustard, pepper, barbeque sauce, and alcoholic beverages. You should also avoid using cosmetic lip products till your lips heal as they might interfere with the healing process or cause further irritation. The incident occurred on the westside of the city just after midnight, said Indianapolis Lt. Jeff Duhamell. Witnesses said at least one person got out of a car, put on a mask and fired what appeared to be an assault rifle at a crowd gathered at the party, Duhamell said. "There was up to about 30 rounds fired," said Duhamell. "And unfortunately two people were killed." The six other victims were rushed to hospitals and were in stable condition, Duhamell said. Police were still searching for the suspect and trying to determine if others were involved.

Only one, a 14-year-old, was rescued. Emergency crews on both sides of the river responded to reports of a single person drowning before 6:30 p.m., just south of the area in Charles and Marie Hamel Memorial Park. It took fire officials about 10 minutes to locate the sinkhole, and that's when they learned there were multiple victims. Dive teams from Shreveport and Bossier fire departments, as well as members of the Caddo Parish sheriff's office, searched the water about an hour before recovering the first body. By 10:30 p.m., all the bodies were recovered. None could swim "None of us could swim," the 38-year-old told the newspaper. "They were yelling 'help me, help me. Somebody please help me.' It was nothing I could do but watch them drown one by one." With tears rolling down her face, Louise Edwards, another witness, added: "It was hard watching them and not being able to help. Some people tried to jump in, but they were already gone. It's like a nightmare. Lord please help us, please." Robinson said a group of family and friends, including about 20 children, had been out at a sandbar to barbecue and enjoy the water. She said they were familiar with the area, the Times reported. Crawford was clearly affected by the tragedy as he announced the deaths. "Unfortunately, I'm afraid, and it's with a heavy heart, to report that we have pulled so far (six) bodies from the river," he said, according to the Times. "I can honestly say that in my 26 years of service I've never seen anything of this magnitude. And I hope I never see it again.
