Traffic Safety Day – 15th April – What to do in an accident

1. Stop!: If your vehicle is involved in an accident, you must stop for as long as reasonably necessary.

2. Help the injured: If anyone is injured, you must make reasonable attempts to get them medical attention. That’s not just human – it’s the law. The exceptions are if the victim objects strongly, or the victim is a minor and a guardian takes charge.

3. Co-operate with the police: Give the police any information they need. If a policeman is not present, report the accident to the nearest police station within 24 hours.
